Role Overview
We are seeking an adaptable and detailed-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dedicated clinical team. In this role, you will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate high-quality patient care. Operating with a high degree of independent judgment, you will monitor patient functional status, coordinate daily care activities, and collaborate across disciplines to ensure excellent clinical outcomes.
This position offers strong visibility and professional growth, frequently collaborating with unit leadership and director-level executives to support quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Excellence & Patient Care
- Comprehensive Care Delivery: Apply the nursing process to assess, organize, and deliver holistic care, fully considering the patient’s age, cultural background, and psychosocial factors.
- Documentation & Accuracy: Maintain precise, detailed electronic charts documenting all steps of the nursing process, utilizing accurate medical terminology to track patient problems and progress toward care goals.
- Discharge Planning: Facilitate smooth patient transitions and discharges through timely referrals and age-appropriate patient/family education resources.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Interdisciplinary Teamwork: Partner seamlessly with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver cohesive care.
- Activity Coordination: Act as a peer leader by coordinating and guiding daily shift activities (non-supervisory) and providing valuable input for team performance evaluations.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external customers, communicating effectively face-to-face and via phone.
Quality & Professional Growth
- Performance Improvement (PI): Support hospital and unit-specific goals by participating in PI initiatives, attending in-services, and completing clinical variance reports.
- Clinical Judgment: Exercise independent judgment to evaluate diversified care alternatives, ensuring alignment with general hospital standards and policies.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing).
Experience & Skills
- Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of work-related clinical nursing experience.
- Clinical Knowledge: Solid working knowledge of general disease state management processes, the bio-psychosocial model, and standardized clinical pathways.
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with a polished professional demeanor.
- Efficiency: Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and manage a heavy workflow in a fast-paced environment while remaining highly detail-oriented when examining clinical and numerical data.
Certifications & Licensure
- Required: A valid, unencumbered multi-state or applicable State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
