Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and patient-centered Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our premier team in Scottsdale, AZ. Working under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, the PTA will carry out plan-of-care treatments for a diverse orthopedic population with a heavy emphasis on post-operative rehabilitation. This role is ideal for a clinician who thrives in a collaborative, high-level sports/orthopedic setting and enjoys guiding patients through recovery to full return to function.
Key Responsibilities
- Treatment Execution: Implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans created by the supervising Physical Therapist for post-operative and general orthopedic patients.
- Patient Progression: Progress patient interventions, exercises, and manual therapies within the established plan of care based on patient response and clinical outcomes.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Communicate regularly with supervising Physical Therapists, orthopedic providers, and medical staff to ensure seamless continuity of care.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs (HEPs), recovery expectations, movement mechanics, and injury prevention.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant daily treatment notes and clinical documentation.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program.
- Licensure & Certifications:
- Current or eligible for Physical Therapist Assistant licensure issued by the Arizona State Board of Physical Therapy.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification.
- Experience: Experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting is preferred; candidates with a strong desire to grow in post-operative care are encouraged to apply.
- Skills: Strong manual therapy skills, solid understanding of post-surgical protocols, and excellent interpersonal communication abilities.
